How Can My Internet Startup Get Custom-made Widgets (aka Gadgets, Modules, Etc.) To Offer To Our Community?

I want to get custom-made widgets for my internet startup. The main goal is to enable our community to get the widgets and post it on their social networking profiles as they desire. I am not a programmer, and need to find the best way to go about this. For example, do I hire an individual programmer? If I should go with a web development company, how do I find one that makes widgets? Thanks for the help!
