How Long Does It Take For Skin To Adjust To A New Product?

February 4, 2010 · Filed Under New Product

I never really stick with any acne curing product for very long because I’m rather impatient. I just switched from something else to this product about 3 weeks ago. I read somewhere it usually takes skin 4-6 weeks to actually adjust to it. Is that true?
Thanks!!

Acne has different entities. It can be subtle or comedogenic (severe). Usually the subtle responds well in 1-2 weeks to over the counter topical (skin) medications. But if it continues to stay you may need further medical treatment with prescription medications (antibiotics, retinoic acid, hormones). I forgot to mention acne is cause by a bacteria called proprionebacterium acneii which infects your pores hence it is difficult to determine the length of response specially if you are using over the counter medications (no antibiotics).
