What Makes Blackberry More Special Than Other Hand Held Gadgets?

The number one feature: Push email.
When an email comes it is immediately delivered to your BlackBerry. Most other devices use “polling” – i.e. at regular intervals they log into your mail server to see if anything has changed. This has three noticeable side effects: (1) You don’t receive your email in “real-time” (2) you use more data from your data plan and (3) you drain your battery quicker.
The models with QWERTY keyboards are easy to type on, and people can get quite good at “thumb-typing”. The “Suretype” models are smaller in size, but again are designed to make typing faster than a regular cell phone (there are two letters per key instead of three, and it uses “suretype” rather than multi-tap per key). Suretype takes some getting used to (and the phone “learns” over time), but again, people can get quite fast at typing.
The BlackBerry is also known for being secure (all data is strongly encrypted). It generally fares well in battery life, voice quality and coverage.
Older models are known for being indestructible. Newer models (like the Pearl and 8800) aren’t indestructible but compete in the size and cuteness.
Then it boils down to preference. Some people prefer the familiarity of Windows devices. Some prefer the wide range of software for the Palm devices.

How Could I Keep My Vista Gadgets On Top Of The Desktop, But Not On Top Of Other Windows?

January 16, 2010 · Filed Under Gadgets · Comments Off

You should be able to adjust the main window size of each program to leave some space at one side for your gadgets. I just learned the way to do this, and I hope it works for you. For each program, open the main screen, then put the cursor on the right or left edge, and drag it toward the center. Then close the window. When you open it again, it should stay at the new position and size.
As you use each program, resize each window and then close it before doing anything in that window. Re-open it to check to see if it works.
If you can’t get at the edge of a window because it’s at full screen, select the tile option at the top right of the window (the two overlapping squares button), then resize the window by dragging its edges to the right size. I’m not sure if this second approach will work, but it’s worth a try.

What Is The Best Choice Other Than Gmask To Pimp Up My Gadgets?

I hate Gmask a lot! Poor service and color fading, when I approached their outlet, they blame my palm sweats that causes the fading. SO? I thought it was “Sweat Resistant”? I got my iPod skin with Gelaskin, it’s pretty good and NO FADING! but too bad, it can not cover the whole iPod.
