Do You Think People Who Buy Their Children [10 And Under] Expensive Gadgets Like Psps Are Foolish?

February 3, 2010 · Filed Under Gadgets · 10 Comments

What about people who buy their wee ones iPods or Nintendo DSs?
Do you find it ridiculous that parents would buy their spawn such expensive items when the children probably won’t take care of them and allow them to get dirty and scratched?
I’m not referring to myself either.

What Gadgets Do People Use To Detect The Paranormal?

Ghost Hunting Equipment
EMF Meters
Electromagnetic field meters, or EMF meters, are one of the most common pieces of ghost-hunting equipment used in investigations.
EMF meters are typically used to measure electromagnetic field radiation levels around power lines, indoor wiring, home applicances, and other appliances.
Because spirit activity tends to cause fluctuations in electromagnetic fields, ghost hunters use EMF meters to detect possible paranormal activity in a haunted location. Any fluctuation beyond normal range is suspect.
While they’re considered a reliable means of detection, they should be used with caution. Too often, false positive readings are a result of interference from electrical wiring, conduits, or appliances in use in the environment. When using an EMF meter, always rule out such interference before drawing any conclusions. Locations that do not have electricity are probably free from any “ordinary” interference–any significant EMF readings may be interpreted as paranormal activity.
EMF meters can cost anywhere from under $100 to several hundred dollars. The best meters for the beginner don’t need to cost a lot of money, but you’ll need to decide how you plan to use it. Some units use only visual alerts to spiking EMF fields, while others have an auditory alarm that might come in handy in dark locations.
One of the most popular EMF meters for ghost hunters is the TriField Natural EM Meter. It is capable of ignoring man-made radiation sources, which can add credibility to any results you may obtain on a ghost hunt.
Mini Voice Recorders
One of the most entertaining pieces of evidence you can gather on a ghost hunt are EVPs, or electronic voice phenomena.
Using a small voice-activated tape recorder to record sounds is one of the easiest ways to gather evidence of the paranormal. It can often pick up any unusual noises that might be missed by the human ear.
When you are on a ghost hunt, initiate a conversation. Introduce yourself, and ask if there is anyone present who would like to speak. Ask questions, such as “what is your name?”, “how old are you?”, and others. You may be surprised what you hear when you play back the recording.
You might consider purchasing a digital voice recorder. For the same price as a tape recorder, you can record many more hours without messing around with tapes.
Also, there are software programs available that can help you “clean up” recordings and isolate any unidentified sounds you may capture.
